Raising Safe Digital Citizens: Cyber Safety & Parental Controls for School Aged Children

We will provide education and discussion on understanding today's digital landscape for children ages 6–12. We’ll review common online risks (gaming, social media, chat features, scams, and inappropriate content) and teaching children safe online behaviors. Your expert will help you in creating family technology rules and expectations and coach on how to use open communication strategies around technology use. Your Parent Expert will review parental controls across popular devices and platforms and discuss monitoring versus trust: finding the right balance. We will talk about managing screen time effectively and age-appropriate app and gaming recommendations.

This series will be facilitated by a Parent Wellness Expert and will meet for 2 consecutive weeks on Zoom:

  • Thursday, July 16, 12:00pm EDT/11:00am CDT

  • Thursday, July 23, 12:00pm EDT/11:00am CDT
