Preparing for Birth: Induction, Cesarean Birth & Special Considerations

This two‑part, expert‑led discussion group supports parents in preparing for birth with greater confidence, flexibility, and clarity, offering practical guidance on induction of labor, cesarean birth, and other special considerations that may shape their experience. Through education and open conversation, participants learn what to expect from common induction methods, how to prepare emotionally and physically for both planned and unplanned cesareans, and ways to stay informed and engaged when birth takes an unexpected turn. The group also explores key topics such as birth preferences, informed decision‑making, communication with the care team, recovery, and early postpartum and newborn care.

Grounded in the understanding that birth doesn’t always follow the original plan, this series provides a supportive space to ask questions, build confidence, and prepare for the many possible paths toward welcoming a new baby.

This two-part series will be facilitated by Maternal Wellness Expert and will meet for 2 consecutive weeks on Zoom:

  • Tuesday, October 20, 12:00pm EDT/11:00am CDT

  • Tuesday, October 27, 12:00pm EDT/11:00am CDT
