Upcoming Maternal Wellness and New Parent Events

What are Peer Support Circles?

Based on the Centering Pregnancy program, BenefitBump’s Pregnancy Peer Support Circles involve group prenatal care sessions that provide support and education to pregnant individuals. Through these groups, connect with other expectant parents due at the same time and engage in informative and open dialogue. To expand on this support, BenefitBump’s Parenting Peer Support Circles also involve group sessions that provide support and education to individuals navigating the first year after welcoming a child. Through these groups, connect with other new and young parents and engage in informative and open dialogue.

How do they work?

Participants meet in groups with others who are at a similar stage of pregnancy or their parenting journey. Group sessions are 30-60 minutes long and typically include 2-4 sessions. To ensure space for meaningful discussion, we will limit space in each cohort. Each session covers a range of topics relevant to the specific stage of pregnancy, preparing for childbirth, or parenting, such as:

  • Prenatal education (nutrition, exercise, childbirth preparation)

  • Emotional support and shared experiences

  • Discussions on breastfeeding, newborn care, and postpartum health

  • Birth plans and options for labor and delivery

  • Building a support network with other new parents

  • Skill building to maintain your emotional well-being as a new parent - boundary setting, creating self-care rituals, managing the mental load, etc.

  • Defining your identity as a parent and re-defining your professional identity

Each session is facilitated by a BenefitBump Care Navigator who is a Maternal Wellness Expert and Licensed Midwife or a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). On top of that, our facilitators are parents themselves.
