The Fourth Trimester: Early Postpartum Recovery & Family Transition

This two‑part, expert‑led discussion group helps parents prepare for the transition into early parenthood withconfidence, realistic expectations, and practical tools, offering guidance on postpartum recovery, newborn adjustment, and finding your rhythm as a family. Through education and open conversation, participants explore what to expect in the early postpartum weeks—including physical healing, emotional shifts, newborn care, feeding, sleep, and the daily realities of caring for both yourself and your baby—while also learning how partners and support people can offer meaningful, constructive help. Acknowledging that the fourth trimester can bring joy, uncertainty, exhaustion, and major change, this group provides a supportive space to normalize the experience, build realistic expectations, identify helpful support systems, and develop strategies for communicating needs and sharing responsibilities.

Whether welcoming your first baby or expanding your family, this series offers grounded guidance and encouragement to help you feel more prepared and supported as you move through early parenthood together.

This two-part series will be facilitated by Maternal Wellness Expert and will meet for 2 consecutive weeks on Zoom:

  • Tuesday, November 10, 12:00pm EDT/11:00am CDT

  • Tuesday, November 17, 12:00pm EDT/11:00am CDT
